Recraft

Editor's Review

Recraft is the only mainstream AI image tool that produces native, editable vector files — actual SVG paths and anchor points, not flattened rasters. For logo designers and brand illustrators, that's not a feature, it's the whole product. The 2026 releases: the V4.1 model family (standard + 4MP Pro) and an August restructure that retired the old Advanced ($27) and flat Pro ($48) plans — Pro is now credit-tiered and gained video generation. Brand style training from uploaded assets remains the enterprise hook. Pricing: Free (50 daily credits — but images are public, owned by Recraft, with no commercial use; the strictest free tier of any major generator); Basic $12/month monthly ($10 annual, 1,000 credits/month, private generations, commercial rights); Pro from $20/month monthly ($16 annual) with credit tiers from 2,000 to 16,000 credits; Teams from $22/seat/month ($18 annual, 3-seat minimum). API: $1/1,000 units — V4.1 raster $0.035/image, vector $0.08, Pro raster $0.21, Pro vector $0.30. Honest limits: the Pro tier costs ~3.5× Ideogram per image for a difference you have to crop to see; standard tier renders at half linear resolution (drafts only); and old plan holders got no grandfathering in the restructure. Who should pay? Only the vector people — if the image is the product and must scale (logos, icons, brand illustrations), Recraft is the only game in town. Everyone else: Ideogram ($20/month Plus, $15 annual, ~$0.06/image measured, best typography) wins on value. Recraft wins exclusively where the deliverable is a scalable file.
