Haiper

Editor's Review

Haiper is dead — this is an obituary, not a review. The consumer web app permanently shut down in February 2025 (accounts and projects discontinued, no data export offered). The cofounders and key engineers were hired by Microsoft AI; the core video technology was sold to NetMind.AI in June 2025 and is being folded into its B2B compute platform. The $10–$30/month pricing you'll find in old reviews is legacy fossil. While it lived, Haiper's pitch was a clean, simple text-to-video generator from a team with DeepMind DNA. The reality: max ~4-second clips, temporal consistency collapsing after ~2 seconds, and essentially non-existent customer support. Unsustainable unit economics — the same disease that killed most 2024-vintage video startups — finished it. Why keep the page? As a cautionary tale and a migration signpost. If you landed here from an old bookmark: your migration paths are Runway ($15/month Standard — the all-in-one with text/image/video-to-video plus real editing tools) and Kling AI (cheaper, still growing, Kling 3.0 with native audio). The broader lesson of Haiper, Sora, and the 2025–2026 video cull: in AI video, "cool demo" means nothing without a sustainable credit economy and enterprise revenue. The survivors — Kling, Google Veo 3.1, Runway, HeyGen — all have real revenue. Haiper didn't.
