Framer is the fastest way for a designer to ship a real website — and Gizmodo's September 2026 "Best AI Website Builder for Designers" pick. Pricing is per site (this is the fact agencies trip over): Free (framer.app subdomain, 1 GB bandwidth); Basic $10/month annual ($15 monthly) with custom domain, 30 pages, 50 GB bandwidth, 1,000 AI credits/month; Pro $30/month annual ($45 monthly) with 150 pages, 100 GB, 3,000 AI credits, staging/branching; Scale $100/month annual-only. Extra editor seat $20/month, content editor $10, each extra language $20/month. The 2026 mechanics: a May billing overhaul introduced the editor/content-editor seat split, and June added AI credits to plans (1,000 Basic / 3,000 Pro) covering AI layout generation, text rewrite, and AI translation. The AI draft still needs substantial hand-finishing — it's a designer shortcut, not a magic builder. Who should pay? Designers shipping portfolios, landing pages, and marketing sites where visual polish matters more than content depth — nothing is faster from Figma-brain to live URL. Who shouldn't? Anyone running three client sites (that's three subscriptions), anyone needing native ecommerce (doesn't exist), or SEO-critical content-heavy sites — Webflow wins there with a stronger CMS, deeper SEO controls, and saner client handoff. Also note: Framer changes pricing and limits frequently, which complicates long-term planning. Per-site pricing means the "$30/month" headline is really "$30/month per site.
