Cursor's biggest pricing change in two years landed October 12: "The X Subscription." SpaceX completed its $60 billion all-stock acquisition of Anysphere (Cursor's parent) on August 14, and the new tiers reflect the combined entity. New users get: Free, Plus $8/month (Grok models only), Premium $30/month, Super $100/month, Ultra $200/month, Teams $30+/user/month. The critical catch: the new usage pools cover only Grok-family models. Claude and GPT usage inside Cursor is now billed separately at official API rates—you get a multiplier (Premium = 4x Plus) but no included amount. Old Pro ($20) users keep their plan and its included Claude/GPT allowance; switching to the new tiers is permanent and irreversible. If you're on old Pro $20, do not switch. Grok Bot (August beta) gives each bot its own cloud computer for cross-app work and multi-bot collaboration. The old pricing reality—Pro $20/month with realistic $60–100/month for daily agent users—now applies only to grandfathered accounts. New users start at Premium $30/month (4x Plus Grok usage), and heavy Claude users may actually pay more than the old Pro era once API-rate billing kicks in. Best for developers who code daily and want the agent inside the editor.
